One year from today, on November 20, 2016, these two love birds will wed! Patrice and Michael chose to do their engagement session at the beautiful Glen Island Park in New Rochelle, New York. The weather was nice and the sunlight was perfect. In the words of the bride, here is how the groom proposed:
"On the night of December 22, 2014 Micheal invited me up to his house. I found this strange because we had plans to go out, but he said, 'Come up for a minute.' He bought a bottle of wine he said he wanted me to try. I walked into the house, which usually had people in it, but no one was around. Mike put on the song Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheehan and asked me to dance with him. The words to the song were perfect, as he says to me."

He opened the box and out of nervousness or happiness--or maybe a combination--HE DROPPED THE RING! It was so cute as he told me, 'Don't look!' I looked, anyway. As he went to pick up the ring, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was perfect."

Knowing he would not know, I asked him what hand it was suppose to go on. After he shrugged, I pointed to the hand and the right finger. He put the ring on as he stood up and asked me if that was a yes. I nodded as I said yes."

He had been communicating with my mom for weeks--had asked for her permission and she even helped with choosing the ring. He had sent her pictures of rings but eventually picked a nice-sized, round solitary. My sister and my cousin, one of my bridesmaids and my maid-of-honor now, were present in the house when Mike asked for my mother's blessing in person, and my grandpa."

"The whole act was great and a surprise. I knew it was coming, but thought at the earliest it would be Christmas. He did it 3 days before Christmas because he wanted it to be just us when it happened, as we had plans for the next few days with our families. I appreciated that it was just us. It was absolutely perfect and couldn't have asked for more. His sister came running out of her room after all was done. It was a great nite and it is just the beginning. God continues to bless me."
Isn't that the cutest little story?? I look forward to shooting their wedding next fall! <3
