Today is Haitian Flag Day! It's a "Haitian holiday to celebrate the creation of the Flag of Haiti and revolution in Haiti that got its people freedom from France and set the precedent for slave uprisings in the US" (thanks, Google). I know there has been a lot going on in Haiti since last year, but Haitians are some of the most resilient and some of the strongest people that I know. If they could overcome all that they overcame in the past, they can definitely overcome all of this mess and unite to make their country better.
Ave booked this portrait session without telling me the theme haha. But you know I'm always down and ready for anything. When she changed into her outfits, I got all excited because I've always wanted to do a session for Haitian Flag Day. I have considered myself Haitian for almost 10 years now haha and I admire Haitian culture.
"I love being Haitian, love the culture and the food. And flag day is my favorite holiday🥰🥰 and it is always a joy for me to celebrate it each year."
Next up was this super cute matching top & skirt that reminded me of the outfits that Jamaicans like to wear for Folklore themes. Girl, you better work this outfit!
This was such a cute and fun session. Happy Haitian Flag Day, tout moun!
